about
Pivot Press is building intellectual community in print.
Our volumes emerge from collaborative inquiry. We bring scholars, practitioners, and engaged communities into sustained dialogue, forging understanding through exchange rather than compilation. The essays and curated conversations we publish capture minds meeting across disciplines—documenting both conclusions and the processes that produced them.
We treat publication as a generative act. The work of creating a book together deepens collective insight. Each volume becomes both artifact and invitation: a carefully crafted object that draws readers into ongoing inquiry.
institutional home
Pivot Press extends the work of the Center on Modernity in Transition (COMIT), an interdisciplinary research institute developing intellectual frameworks for civilizational transformation.
COMIT begins from the reality of human oneness: that we are a single people inhabiting a single planetary homeland. This recognition provides the lens through which diverse perspectives genuinely illuminate one another. After years cultivating a global community of research and dialogue, COMIT created Pivot Press to give these insights durable form—books that sustain and advance a research program built around the principle of human oneness.
working with us
Pivot Press publishes curated essays and volumes that grow out of COMIT's broader work of intellectual community building. Speaker series, workshops, and sustained scholarly relationships feed into our publications, and our publications feed back into these activities. As such, we do not accept isolated manuscript proposals, but instead focus on cultivating cycles of inquiry that advance our broader intellectual aims. If you have an idea you'd like to explore with us, we welcome hearing from you.
