Pivot Press is the publishing imprint of the Center on Modernity in Transition (COMIT), a nonprofit research institute. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit pivotpress.org or interact with our publications or services.

We collect only the information necessary to operate our website, publish open-access scholarship, and communicate with readers.

Newsletter subscriptions: If you sign up for our mailing list, we collect your email address and any other information you choose to provide. We use Mailchimp to manage our email communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in any email you receive from us.

Purchases: When you buy a physical book, your payment and shipping information is processed securely by Squarespace Commerce and its payment processors. Pivot Press does not store credit card numbers. We retain basic order records to fulfill purchases and respond to customer service inquiries.

Website analytics: Like most websites, we collect limited technical information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, referring sources, general geographic location, and device type. This information helps us understand how readers use our site and improve our services. We do not use this analytics data to identify individual visitors.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send unsolicited email to anyone who has not opted in to receive communications from us.
